"Eyes Akimbo"

I love this phrase that Carrie Bradshaw uses when she is in a bar with her friends from Sex and the City. She says it to try to get her friends to look forward rather than around (and thus giving away that they are looking for Aiden).

I did some research on this phrase and "akimbo" generally means to have your hands on your hips and your elbows bent and pointing out.

I have been telling myself this phrase recently when I feel myself thinking about negative things. I just say to myself "eyes akimbo." I need to be looking forward rather than back.

Personal Space

The first thing I wanted to write about was an interesting observation I have made here in Greensboro. It seems that the "personal space" between people here in Greensboro is less than the space between people in Raleigh/Durham. It really is comforting thing to me. I enjoy that people "occupy" more of the same space around here. To me this kind of implies that we share space and then by extension that your space (and perhaps your being) is important to me as it is to you. That is a very non-lonely dynamic and I really like it. Yay Greensboro!

Welcome!

It has been a while since I have published on this blog. So, I wiped my other posts (only 4) and have decided to start anew. I would like this blog to have a few focuses:

1.) health and wellness (mental, physical, spiritual)

2.) observations of my surroundings (mostly Greensboro, NC and Reidsville, NC)

3.) quirky, silly random fun stuff

4.) to keep in touch with all of you!

So, without further ado, welcome to my blog! Cheers!
